Shooting Stars Nursery Garden Transformation
Hinckley, Leicestershire
Parker Grears Developments were commissioned to completely transform the outdoor play garden at Shooting Stars Nursery in Hinckley — bringing a tired, unsafe space back to life for the children and staff who use it every day.
The project involved installing premium bonded rubber surfacing across the main play zones — a highly durable, impact-absorbing surface that meets safety standards and stands up to all-weather use. The garden was redesigned to maximise play space through clearly defined zones: active play, sensory exploration, natural learning, and relaxed seating areas.
Key works included new fencing and gating to separate play zones safely, a woodland play area with retaining wall, a sandpit with cover, astro turf areas, new planting beds with retaining walls to conceal sharp step edges, and a bark play and seating area beside the sandpit.
